On Saturday 5th  March around 17:00pm, a waste collector found a woman’s partially burnt body at an open veld in Lakeside Ext 2 and immediately alerted the police.

Police attended to the scene and found a gruesomely murdered and partially burnt body of an unidentified female.

According to SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Shaan Motsapi: “The deceased was only wearing an underwear and had sustained burn wounds on the front of her body. No one amongst the bystanders knew how the deceased ended up at the scene. Investigations were conducted around the neighbourhood and no one knew what happened or could identify the suspect.” 

The motive of the murder is unknown at this stage and no arrests have been made.
