Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane visited Dinokaneng Secondary School in Westside Park, Sebokeng, today on the 27th of February following the death of a learner. The Gauteng Education Department says it is difficult to deal with violence outside school premises. It is now calling on residents to work with them to reduce violence in communities.

A Grade ten boy learner was fatally stabbed by a fellow learner after school last week Thursday. A day earlier, a Grade eleven boy from the same school was stabbed and injured during a fight at a local sports ground late at night. The department says this incident is allegedly linked to the rampant gangsterism in the area.

The reporter.today tried to interview the community as well as the pupil from the School but no one wanted to comment about the whole predicament.
