Gospel goes indigenous on the 19th December at Vereeniging Civic theatre. The Reporter had an honour of speaking to the organiser of the event Mr Themba Khoza. He spoke broadly about the event saying that this was the 3rd year since the event began. It is going to run continuously from now on “he mentioned”.


He furthermore said” I’m looking forward to taking this event throughout the whole of South Africa in the next coming years”. Gospel goes indigenous idea and the mission behind it was to show case the hymns and taking it back to the original format of gospel music.

At the event were artists such as Taki Ndou, Puleng March,  Jubulile Jay,  Putuma Tiso, Sfiso Mabuza,   Shange, Mkhuleko Maphosa,  Neo Tshabalala,  Bheki M, Mika,  Paseka Nkemele and  Mabuza Motsepe.

However, he was pleased to express his thanks to all other artists who made it to the event, also to the companies that partnered with him in putting together the event of this magnitude such as Gospel broadcast and Arts and culture department.

He urges all the people who did not make it to the event to watch it live on 1 gospel next year January on the 1st and the repeat of the show on the 2nd of January 2022.
