Two security guards (who wish to remain anonymous) were on duty when the electricity went off.
They then decided to patrol the vicinity to check what might have caused the electricity to be off, as they were patrolling they came across a sub-station and decided to also check. That is when they discovered the lifeless body of a man. The South Africa Police service (SAPS) were summoned immediately.
It is alleged that the victim opened the electrical box which is situated along Langenhoven street in CW6 at Vanderbijlpark in the open field and tampered with it. Apparently he was electrocuted and died on the spot. The incident occurred on the 23rd of December.

A crowbar and pliers were found on the ground which allegedly were used by the victim. He was later identified as Komteer a 35-year-old man who resides at Joko Tea informal settlements in Bophelong.
A case docket of inquest was registered for further investigation.
