A man in his early 50’s has been arrested after he attempted to hijack a truck that was pulled over by a traffic officer on the N1 in Orange Farm over the weekend. The suspect pointed at the traffic officer with a firearm, the officer then drew his service firearm and shot the suspect.

Police spokesperson Shaan Motsapi spoke to the reporter.today, he said  it was later discovered that the suspect was using a toy – gun. The suspect was immediately arrested on the scene and rushed to hospital for medical attention. He will appear in court soon.
