Gauteng Community Safety MEC Faith Mazibuko hosted the School Safety Indaba in Sebokeng on 27th February Sunday morning, following incidents of illegal substance abuse, gangsterism, break-ins and violence against pupils and educators within the Gauteng schooling environment.

The source told the Reporter that the purpose of School Safety Indaba was unpacking the safety challenges and great a common approach in tackling them in an effort to enhance pupil safety and teaching in schools.

During the course of her speech, MEC Mazibuko advised SGB members and parents to be hands on in schools to insure that the teachers have all the necessary help they can get from SGB.

In conclusion she said,” Do not be SGB members of status, be active in the school. As parents, you must also rise up. Help and also great some programs that empower the school pupils”
