The MEC for Social, Agriculture, Rural development, Mbali Hlophe, spent the first day of the new school year at the Katlego-Impumelelo Secondary school and a nearby Early Childhood Centre in Sebokeng, Zone 11, yesterday.

It was all smiles for about 200 learners who received school uniform and 390 dignity packs that were handed over to vulnerable and orphaned children, compliments from the Gauteng Provincial Department. The school management was engaged to understand their teaching and learning challenges. Learners were also encouraged to focus on education, as it will open doors for them in future.

Furthermore, learners were strongly encouraged yet again to stay far away from drugs and any bad substance. They should consider spending more of their time in certain activities such as soccer, netball to mention but few.
