On Thursday, 13th of October 2022 Midvaal Libraries celebrated white cane day by conducting a       mini-library workshop at Lakeside library in Sebokeng. The aim of the event was to introduce computer facilities with assistive devices (mini libraries) for blind and visually impaired people.

A representative from Blindlib SA demonstrated the use of equipment. The devices are designed to promote independence in activities such as reading mail, paper based books, and the conversion of text to audio.

The mini- libraries system is available at the following libraries:

• Meyerton Library

• Lakeside Library
