A man was attacked with acid over the weekend in Orange Farm. The victim noticed a R20 note in a friend’s cell phone cover took it out and asked her for it.

According to a police statement the suspect had agreed, but the victim noticed she was unhappy and tried to give her the money back, but she refused it. The suspect later returned with her mother, armed with a panga, who then proceeded to pour a liquid on the man causing severe burns. The suspect was arrested and the case is under investigation.

The suspect has already appeared in the magistrate court and the outcome of the court case is still pending.
