These residents are involved in a poverty alleviation scheme through a government sponsored program. They grow their own vegetables which they distribute to needy families within their community. The aim is to try and make sure that destitute families never go to bed on empty stomachs.

The program has its own challenges as these people also make a living from an insufficient government stipend.  The group puts their hands together and make this sacrifice rather than do nothing while the community around them suffers.

Getting bigger support in terms of land, seed and equipment will go a long way in assisting the group to help the community and maybe sell some to those who can afford to buy freshly produced vegetables from the team in order to make the project self-sustainable.
