Oversight visit to the municipal projects
The Metsimaholo Local Municipality Members of the Council led by the Council Speaker, Cllr Lucas Fisher, conducted oversight visits to municipal projects yesterday. In a statement the municipality said the objective of the oversight is to assess the state of service delivery in Metsimaholo Local Municipality, as well as to conduct oversight on various municipal projects and to ensure that municipal resources are efficiently and effectively utilised for the purposes they are meant to. This exercise is also to assess the impact of the initiatives that the Municipality is spending taxpayers’ money on, to see if the projects are sustainable.
The visit included Oranjeville waste water treatment works, the roads in Metsimaholo in Ward 5, Refengkgotso waste water treatment works, Themba Khubeka Electrical, Amelia Cemetery and the roads in Zamdela Ward 10. Councillors of Metsimaholo Municipality have urged constructors and consultants on site to ensure that they create relationships with the communities in which they operate and asked them to always liaise with the municipality on matters concerning their projects.
