On Friday, 21 January 2022, the Sedibeng District’s Family violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit, Orange Farm, SAPS and Angels Network, prepared lunch, handed over groceries and toys to the children of Thato Ke Matla Orphanage in Orange Farm.

The FCS Commander Col Moeketsi Petsane, was delighted to be part of such a special occasion. “The children who reside in this home are indeed our own children as a society, therefore, all of us must play a vital role as parents to ensure their wellbeing and wellness,” said Col Petsane.

Reverend Jeff Twala from Angels Network Ministry shared that his ministry will ensure that the homes will receive food on weekly basis so that no child goes to bed on an empty stomach.

Thato ke Matla representative, Disebo’s daughter expressed her appreciation that the Police and the church came together as one to spend their precious time with the children who do not have proper family structures.  She said it is amazing to see the police showing so much love and playing a parental role.

Thato ke Matla Orphanage hosts approximately 30 children amongst them are some with special needs.
