The Vereeniging SAPS tracing team arrested two suspects aged 36 and 38 for being in possession of an explosive device in the Small Farms area in the early hours of Friday morning.

Police spokesperson said after a tip-off was received a premise in Selbourne Road Small Farms was searched, and a black plastic bag containing an active explosive device was found. Maxambela says an explosives expert confirmed the content of the plastic bag to be a timed bomb. The explosive device was secured. The two undocumented nationals from Lesotho were arrested and charged with possession of an explosive device. The two will appear in court soon.
