The Metsimaholo Local Municipality has distanced itself from the unlawful registration of people for the residential sites at Wonderfontein on the R59, outside Sasolburg. According to the municipality, this unlawful activity is taking place at the new municipal building, which used to be the TLC offices in Zamdela.
In a statement, the municipality said the local authority would not allocate residential sites to the community without proper infrastructure like roads, sewer, electricity and water. There are lawful processes that need to be followed before residential sites are registered and allocated to the community. The municipality discourages residents from partaking in such illegal activities.
